When breathing is easy, the body uses oxygen more effectively. This results in a sense of well-being, better energy levels, and improved focus, as oxygen is properly delivered to the cells. Easy breathing reduces common issues like breathlessness, shallow breathing, and the tendency to mouth-breathe, which can lead to disruptions in the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide.
When someone has better chewing habits, they are able to thoroughly grind food before swallowing, which helps to prevent issues like choking or aspirating food into the airway. Efficient swallowing ensures that food passes smoothly from the mouth to the esophagus without difficulty. Improved muscle strength and coordination in the tongue, throat, and jaw also support more consistent and safer swallowing, which can reduce the risk of complications such as aspiration or dysphagia (difficulty swallowing).
Correct tongue resting position within the mouth is essential for proper oral and facial development, breathing, and overall health. Ideally, the tongue should rest fully against the roof of the mouth (palate), with the tip just behind the front teeth and the sides gently touching the upper molars. This posture helps maintain proper alignment of the teeth, support nasal breathing, and create the right pressure for healthy development of the palate and jaw.
Lips together ensures that air flows naturally through the nose rather than the mouth, which helps to filter, warm, and humidify the air before it reaches the lungs. It also prevents issues like mouth breathing, which can lead to dry mouth, dental problems, and sleep-disordered breathing such as snoring or sleep apnea.

Myofunctional therapy is a program used to correct the improper function of the tongue and facial muscles. It involves strengthening of the tongue and orofacial muscles by teaching individuals how to engage the muscles to the appropriate position.
The main goals and objetives of MT:
One of the biggest advantages of virtual Myo therapy is the convenience it offers. With the busy schedules of work, school, and after-school activities, it can be hard for families to find time for in-person sessions. Plus, if you’re feeling a bit under the weather, you can still attend therapy from the comfort of your home without spreading germs! Fewer cancellations happen with virtual sessions since it eliminates extra hurdles like traffic or illness. As a result, more consistent therapy leads to faster progress!
A series of several exercises are performed with the help of tongue, lips, jaw and mouth overal.
Our programs offers weekly session with guidelines. Each weekly training contains multiple exercises.
The weekly exercises come complete with descriptions, tips and tricks, and video demonstrations to ensure the exercises are taught and practiced correctly!
With a bit of practice, the exercises can be done in 15 – 30 minutes (depending on each client’s age and level of ability).
We recommend repeating these exercise 1-2 times daily.
All of our exercises all carefully selected and easy to perfom after whatching the instructional video.
It could be some chalenges to do some of these exercise with kids, but after repetitions your kids will adopt and do it normally.
But if you somehow will feel any kind of pain – we recoment to stop doing and consult a healtcare profesional.
We strongly suggest: if you can see a specialist every week online or live 1:1 for orthodontic treatment, we hihgly encourage do it.
But if you don’t have much time or are on a budget, this program is serving you.
This program is for those who need some education and don’t have ability at this time to get the specialist. In order to do nothing we strongly suggest to follow up our program.
Remember, you either can do this program in addition or after the consultation with your Myo therapy specialist.
